University aims in making India a Knowledge Society and Knowledge Economy by empowering the women of our country through education in Engineering, Science, Management and Technology. and to become one of the top technical Universities in the country known for its value based, quality technical education supported with industry relevant research, with focus on environmental and social issues.
Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) was established in 1998. It is the first engineering college for women only. From 2002- 2013, the college remained the first and only constituent college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The upgradation of IGIT, already a prestigious college of north India, to University has enabled it to function even more efficiently as a teaching and research centre in various branches of engineering.
1. Learning Resource Centre (LRC) serves as the premier source of academic information for the IGDTU community through its collections, educational and consulting services. 2. The university has on campus computing facility (computer lab) housed in centralized air conditioned premises, named as "Computer Center". 3. The university has a common room for girls, equipped with fitness equipments, yoga facility and indoor games.
