Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, formerly known as Amravati University, is a public state university that was set up on May 1st, 1983 and is located at Amravati in the Vidarbha region of the state of Maharashtra, India. SGBAU has its jurisdiction over the Western Vidarbha areas that encompass five districts namely Amravati, Yavatmal, Akola, Buldhana and Washim. The UGC approved University is Re-Accredited with Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. Admission to SGBAU Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research Programs will be on the basis of state level entrance exams namely, GATE and MH CET.
